THE FIFA U-17 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN FINLAND
The Finnish Football Association will stage the final tournament of the FIFA U17 World Championships during 13.8.-30.8.2003. The tournament is played for the 10th time and this year the games will be played in four Finnish cities, namely Helsinki, Lahti, Tampere, and Turku. 16 countries from six continents will take part in the tournament.

Last time the U17 World Championships final tournament was played in Trinidad & Tobago in 2001, where France defeated Nigeria in the final.

FIFA has placed a goal for the tournament as an equal venue for countries from all continents to show their skills. Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America will each send three teams to the final tournament whereas Oceania has one representative – this allocation has remained the same ever since the first U17 final tournament in 1985.

As the final tournament will be staged in Finland, we have decided to dedicate this section to the tournament. Here we provide information on the tournament history as well as groupings, and fixtures for the 2003 games. For those interested in contacting the tournament organisers, we have added the regarding information.
